Teachers Need a Boost

Ever wake up in the morning and hit snooze 7 times? Straight up, I do this every morning!

It takes me at least 15 minutes to gradually transition out of bed. 4:55 A.M. just comes early, you know?

But I know in order to be my personal best for the day, I simply must get a work out in before heading to school. That is stinkin’ hard most days. The thought of 60 minutes of extra sleep just sounds so good. Especially on days when there is a school-wide assembly. Or  3 IEPs meetings. Or a stack of 172 papers to grade….

Two problems with my morning.

1.)  I’m so warm and snuggly in bed and won’t want to change for the workout. That makes me cold.

2.) Changing takes like another 10 minutes. Ain’t nobody got time for that. See what is happening here….

Excuses!

One way I have made my morning routine a little bit better is by sleeping in my workout clothes. I go to bed fully dressed for my spin class or cardio kick-boxing. Each night before bed I put on shorts then pants over the top, a sports bra and a t-shirt with a half-zip over the top. Boom! I’m warm AND ready!

Now literally all I have to do is roll on out the bed and head to the gym. Most days I brush my teeth first. Most days…

I feel better on days when I work out before work. I want to be my best version of myself for students. Because they deserve it. I deserve it.

Give it a try! It works!

PS- I prepare my coffee pot the night before too. It is then on a timer. The moment I walk in from the gym I am filled with awesome aroma of freshly brewed coffee. I drink the whole pot before going to school…
