This is my new classroom for next year.
Like you, I have absolutely no idea what it will actually look like when school actually starts.
Even right now it feels like an empty slate.
It is highly unlikely desks will remain in the room.
It is highly unlikely 22 kids can come at a time.
It is highly unlikely high-fives & fist bumps happen.
I stepped into this new room for the 1st time a few weeks ago and broke into tears almost immediately. (Or maybe that was sweat dripping down my face in this 2nd story room with no AC)
But praise Jesus for the e-mail that came through a few days ago that said a window unit is coming! (Amen).
Nonetheless, my heart broke a little knowing that out vision of a classroom is so different than it ever has been.
But what’s incredible is our mission hasn’t changed at all.
We will teach kids.
We will reach kids.
Period.
It’s only the 2nd week of August right now, but I am genuinely excited to embark on this year.
It’s going to be perfectly imperfect
Are you with me?
Oh and PS- I’m totally freaking out too….
