Have you had a dream car since you were a kid? I have!
I remember watching Keeping Up with The Kardashians nearly 20 years ago and falling in love with the Mercedes G-Wagon.
Not knowing the price, I recall googling it and almost dying in front of my laptop when I saw a 6-figure price tag
Knowing it was absolutely out of the price range for a teacher I moved my dream car to something a little more reasonable, a Toyota Highlander.
But 3 years ago I was in a city that had a Mercedes dealership. I stalked the lot after hours to take a quick pic next to my pipe dream, a brand new G-Wagon
That picture is in my “favorites” album in my phone and I look at it often.
It’s a reminder of fun.
It’s a reminder of big dreams.
It’s a reminder of life goals.
It’s a reminder to push.
Well, the other day I went back to that lot of the original “dream photo” and I test drove the real deal, a used 2008 with 100,000 miles that was way more in my price range. And I fell in love!
Then I did something that is out of character for me. If you know me, I am practical, love to say yes, and make things happen.
And to this completely impractical purchase I said, NO.
Not because I wanted to.
But because, sometimes it’s better to wait on a dream.
Sometimes we aren’t saying “NO” to something, we are just saying
Not yet.
Not right now.
Not in this way.
Not like this.
I am a big believer in shattering beliefs of “you will never do that” or “ya right, I’ll believe it when I see it.”
It’s not about cars, friends.
It’s about commitments.
What are you committed to dreaming big about?
Just by talking about them we come one step closer
Travel. I want to be able to just drop everything and go
