A trip to the dollar tree can make your March magical!
Or Your April Awesome.
Or Your May Magnificent!
Need to help motivated your class during what seems like the longest quarter in the school year?
Here is one simple idea!
Step 1: Go to the Dollar Tree and find you some gold coins.
Can’t find them? No worries. Use poker chips. Use Foam Shapes. Anything can do!
Step 2: Using your cute sticker letters… ORRRR in my case… use the hello name tag that you also found at the dollar tree…. cut it up and then use a sharpie that is on your desk to label each gold coin with a random letter
(make sure to leave a few blank for wild cards!)
Step 3: Challenge your students to accomplish a goal (use the behavior that you need to be fixed for this). Forgetting pencils, talking when not appropriate, not turning in work… whatever it is
Step 4: At the end of every class that the goal is achieved… pull out a random letter and record these for the whole month
If you teach younger students, you can totally do a daily competition or one that lasts just a week.
Step 5: Have students create the longest word, phrase, or sentence with the letters they earned.
Step 6: Longest one wins the ultimate prize
I like to have the class come up with their own reward.
Last month the winning class wanted a Cheeto Party 🙂
There ya go!
That’s all you need to have an AWESOME month in your classroom!
