Let me get straight to the point…
Our classrooms should have far more clapping than critiquing.
How motivated are you when somebody tells you that you are doing something wrong?
How encouraged are you when somebody tells you that you are doing something right?
Clapping will always win over critiquing.
Don’t get my wrong, our kids need feedback.
Our kids need constructive criticism.
Our kids need to understand that perfection isn’t what we expect.
But at the end of the day, one of the biggest classroom motivators is when kids know that their teachers are legitimately and authentically rooting for them.
Classrooms should be filled with positive educational noise.
Classrooms shouldn’t be filled with fear of failure.
