There is a substantial difference between WORKING and LEARNING.
Working out 5 problems can prove that students are proficient.
They don’t always need 25 practice problems and 70 fill in the blanks.
The goal is that work LEADS to learning, not frustration
In the words of Rihanna “work, work, work, work, work…”
Pretty sure there isn’t a lyric in that song about assigning so much work that kids start hating school, but there should be.
Let’s help kids “learn, learn, learn, learn, learn.”
With awesome things like:
Conversation
Projects
Debates
Practice
Those can be MASSIVE indicators of growth.
And PS when we use those we also have less to “grade, grade, grade, grade, grade.”
Thanks for coming to my concert
