Doing engaging games with kids is a great way to build a classroom community.
You probably have dome something like Would You Rather before.
But, the version I’ve created takes things to a whole new level!
Get ready for a wonderful Would You Rather Wednesday in your classroom!
This free activity is PERFECT for SEL time, morning meeting, homeroom, small group, and relationship building.
At the start of this activity I have all my students do a secret vote (by raising their hands with their eyes closed).
I announce the theme, like today’s “Only eat Yellow Food or Red Food for the Rest of Your Life.”
I don’t give them much time because I want their “impulse answer.”
Count the votes up and put the numbers on each line.
You can either give each kid a copy of the activity or you can do one as a whole class.
Once you got your votes, now it’s time to dig deeper!
Set the timer and let them brainstorm all the foods of each color.
Document those in the box and have so fun!
Then answer the two reflection questions
BOOM!
This is such a fun way to work on skills like:
brainstorming
reflection
impulse decisions
thinking outside the box
effective communication
