Schools get so caught up in facts and figures sometimes.
But remember…
Data doesn’t mean anything if the people hearing it don’t plan to DO anything with it in the first place.
Data without action is just a spreadsheet

Listen Carefully…
Data doesn’t mean sh*t UNLESS the people we are presenting it to are actually going to LISTEN and LEARN from it.
But do you know why it’s so hard for people to listen to school data?
- We collect it “just to collect it” sometimes.
- We look at data to look good for others.
- We put too much weight on data.
We have some many dang data points and spreadsheets our eyes start to go crazy just looking at it.
We simply have to value PEOPLE more than percentages.
I’ll say it louder for the people at the back AKA the board offices…
We have to value people MORE than percentages.
