What an F Means to Students This Year (And Probably Every Year)

A loving reminder to parents, teachers, and education leaders…

Letter grades this year are more of a reflection on how kids can:

COPE during CRISIS rather than their knowledge of CONTENT

An F in MATH feels a lot more like an F in LIFE to a student.

The end of the quarter can bring a lot of stress to a lot of people, especially this year.

We can hold kids accountable while still holding off on giving out zeros for every missing assignment.

Let’s ask more questions before assigning an F for the semester.

We can believe in rigor, while also believing in relationships.

With so much love,

OMG! I needed to hear this so much this morning! My 10th grader has really been struggling with school. Went from an A/B student to failing 3 out of 4 classes currently. He was also diagnosed with anxiety & depression in March. Thank you 🙂
