Why Are There 59 Shades of Failure in Schools?

We have all heard of the book 50 Shades of Gray.

It was pretty controversial and likely WAY over-rated.

But you know what is fascinating?

There are 59 shade of something in schools that is also controversial and TOTALLY over-rated.

And that’s our traditional grading system.

But in all seriousness, why does this out-dated grade scale even still exist in modern education systems? 

We can do better than this.

Because at the end of the day, if a grade doesn’t truly reflect what a student knows (or doesn’t know) then what is the point?
