When a fellow educator comes to you in distress, we have to ask them a really important question:
Are you looking for ideas/solutions to your problem?
OR
Are you looking for somebody to just listen right now?
This question makes a HUGE difference.
If we truly want to meet educators where they are at, we need to start with 1 simple question.
Do you want help or do you want me to listen?
Asking this question is a game changer when somebody comes to us and they are stressed or upset!
People cope differently.
People have different needs.
People feel supported differently.
So sometimes we just have to ask.
